After years of waiting, Honor of Kings: World has finally revealed actual gameplay, and it’s looking like an absolute banger. For the longest time, all we had were pre-rendered trailers, but now we have a real look at what the game is bringing to the table—and it’s giving off serious Monster Hunter World vibes.
A New Direction in Art Style
One of the first things that stands out is the 3D aesthetic. While many were expecting an anime-style look similar to Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves, Honor of Kings: World is going for a more detailed, realistic approach. This is a refreshing change, especially with so many anime-inspired action RPGs in the market.
Combat Looks Fast and Fluid
The gameplay footage shows dynamic character swapping, smooth movement, and even plunge attacks—though hopefully, different characters will have unique animations instead of reusing the same one. The Monkey King’s entrance was particularly hype, with slick combat animations and a fiery soundtrack to match.
English Voice Acting – A Work in Progress
Surprisingly, the game also features an English dub. While it’s not the most polished voice work, it’s important to remember this is early footage, and there’s plenty of time for improvements before launch.
But Where’s the Release Date?
Unfortunately, the one thing missing from the reveal was a beta test or release date. While the game is shaping up to be something special, we’re still left guessing when we’ll actually get our hands on it. It’s also unclear whether Honor of Kings: World is still an MMO or if it has shifted to a more single-player or co-op experience.
With everything shown so far, though, it’s hard not to be excited. What do you think? Do you like the realistic art style, or would you have preferred a more anime-like look? Let us know your thoughts!
