The latest Shifting Sands update brings a wave of exciting changes to RuneScape, refining both combat and exploration while reshaping Wilderness rewards. Here are the key highlights:
- Bounty Hunter Closure & Reward Redistribution – The iconic PvP minigame has been retired, but its unique rewards haven’t disappeared! Items like the Amulet of the Forsaken now drop from the Barrows minigame, while Ancient Warrior Equipment Patches can be found on revenants and Wilderness Slayer tasks.
- New Slayer Master – Mandrith – Stepping into a new role, Mandrith now offers Wilderness Slayer tasks for players with 85+ Slayer, adding fresh challenges for those brave enough to venture into the dangerous depths of the wild.
- Revenant Pets & Shared Loot Table – Revenant ghosts now have a tiered pet system, offering increasingly rare pets as drops. Additionally, NPCs in the Wilderness now share a rare loot table, meaning stronger enemies provide better drop rates for rare items.
- Combat & Graphics Enhancements – Legacy combat mode has been adjusted for better balance, ranged ability animations are smoother, and Prifddinas lighting has been fine-tuned, restoring the city’s bright and elegant aesthetic.
- Quest Requirement Adjustments – To make questing more accessible, certain Defence and Magic requirementshave been tweaked. For example, While Guthix Sleeps now requires 40 Defence instead of 65, allowing more players to experience this classic storyline.
With these updates, Jagex continues to refine the RuneScape experience, keeping the world of Gielinor engaging and rewarding for both veterans and newcomers.
